Our Ducati Glasgow impressive new dealership was officially opened on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May by means of a star studded and fun fuelled Grand Opening Weekend. This event has now claimed the title as one of the most iconic events within the motorcycle industry in Scotland of recent years.
With the legendary Jeremy McWilliams, former Moto GP rider, motorsport commentator and mentor for the British Racing Talent Team providing a meet and greet session on both days, and John McPhee, the only Scotsman taking part in the British Motorcycle Grand Prix, member of the British Talent Team and Moto3 World Championship competitor also appeared at this very special Grand Opening Weekend.
Saturday saw both professional riders taking part in a ‘Pit Lane Grand Prix’, competitively racing on Triumph and Ducati branded go-karts for a well entertained crowd. Top rocker Stevie Nimmo also performed a live acoustic set before all female rock trio The Amorettes revved up the rock on the Triumph Show Truck Stage.
With the sun shining on the Sunday, there was no better way than to jump start the celebrations with limited edition goody bag giveaways, special offers throughout the store and even more successful bands providing a geared up performance on stage.
Original members Giuliano 'Jools' Gizzi and Dante Gizzi from legendary 90’s rock band GUN, preformed a full throttle acoustic set which included their top tune “Better Days” as well as their cover of "Word Up!". Brothers Stevie Nimmo and Alan Nimmo from the successful blues band King King joined GUN on stage, as well as Ducati Glasgow and Triumph Glasgow Managing Director, Martin Rees.
Mr Rees commented, “This two day event was to say thank you and welcome to friends, families, neighbours and local businesses as well as to launch the incredible new motorcycle showrooms and celebrate the £3.5million and 20,000 square foot investment into Pit Lane. All who attended had a fantastic weekend and the response really has been overwhelming.”
Two lucky customers also won The Grand Prize draws which included a selection of incredible prizes from Triumph Genuine Leather Jackets, £750 worth of vouchers, VIP British Superbike Tickets to limited edition signed merchandise. There was also a BBQ, face painting, presence from the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club and a ride-in from the Scottish Ducati Club.
The impressive new dealerships are located at Pit Lane, 6 Mossland Drive, Hillington Park, Glasgow, G52 4FA. This biker paradise is an essential stop for any motorcycle fan and those passionate about the industry.
