Perth Bike Night raises almost £1,250 for Rachel House!

On Saturday 30th June 2018, Perth Bike Night raised plenty of money for local children’s hospice Rachel House, part of CHAS, The Children’s Hospices Across Scotland Charity.

For one night only this season, Ducati Glasgow were invited along to Perth Bike Night to bring their absolutely stunning range of Italian machinery to the heart of Scotland along with numerous other exhibitors to showcase their products and tell their stories to help Perth Bike Night, the attendees and other small businesses to raise money for charity.

Perth Bike Night on Saturday 30th June 2018 was sponsored by Carpenters Joinery, a small local joinery business passionate about fundraising for Rachel House. Funds were raised by means of a £2 on-the-gate entry fee and the sale of raffle tickets for prizes which were donated by numerous bike dealers, local businesses and even bike night attendees. A very generous £1,248.46 was counted - a new highest total for Perth Bike Night who have been running their charitable evenings for over 4 years.

Karen Gary from Perth Bike Night commented, “I’m completely blown away by the total and amount of bikes! Ducati Glasgow topped off the night with a fantastic display of some of their stunning bikes and I look forward to welcoming them back in the future.  Perth Bike Night is about a group of like-minded people getting together to helps others, the event runs entirely on a voluntary basis and to date we have raised over £15,000 to help over 18 different charities and causes with our efforts which makes me extremely proud to be part of such a fantastic group of people”

Over 350 bikes attended the Perth Bike Night at the end of June, held at Noah’s Ark, Old Gallows Road, Western Edge, PERTH, PH1 1QE on possibly the warmest evening of the year to support Rachel House, part of the Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) charity. Those from the Perth and Kinross area describe Rachel House as a 'home from home' for families. It has a range of facilities including a hydrotherapy room, large accessible garden and lots of areas for relaxing and fun. It also has areas for reflection, bereavement support and care.

For those interested in the motorcycles on show, Ducati Glasgow introduced the Ducati Panigale V4 to Perth. Some Perth Bike Night visitors had their pictures taken with the V4, as if this Italian performance bike was a celebrity itself.

The brand new Scrambler 1100 Sport was on show and surprised everyone with it’s superior performance forks and Öhlins shock absorbers - these racing features render the Scrambler 1100 the ideal muscle bike for riders who love to express themselves through speed.

For the more adventurous rider, the Multistrada 1260 S was a hot topic. Visitors could try this adventure bike out for size and receive demonstrations of the on-board Ducati Multimedia Systems (DMS) from the friendly staff on hand.

The family-owned dealership also brought the XDiavel S to central Scotland. This high performance cruiser is a motorcycle that you have to see to believe. It’s easy to be drawn into the admiration of this bike. Before you know it, you would be stopped in your tracks to study the XDiavel S’s clean lines and understated innovation - it’s no surprise that this incredible design and engineering won the Good Design Award, the world’s oldest prize dedicated to Design excellence. The XDiavel S is true show stopper and available to test ride from the Hillington Park Showroom.

Some of the 350 + visitors also arrived on some very limited-edition, Italian machines including a Mike Hailwood Ducati 900 Evoluzione. The bikes on show, from both Ducati Glasgow and Perth Bike Night attendees looked incredibly beautiful in the Scottish sunset, and knowing that everyone had contributed towards the almost £1,250 fundraising for Rachel House, makes it all worth the while.

Perth Bike Night is on the last Saturday on the month, every month between April and September and is held at Noah’s Ark, Old Gallows Road, Western Edge, PERTH, PH1 1QE.
