In 2018, Lenovo signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Ducati, becoming the key technology partner for the team which includes use of Lenovo’s PCs, tablets and servers both on and off the track.
The Braehead-based businesses in Glasgow, Lenovo Scotland and Ducati Glasgow recently collaborated to share experiences and build a greater understanding of how both are working together to support the Ducati team’s Moto GP performance.
For the inaugural launch of Lenovo’s “People First” programme within the UK, Ducati Glasgow was the ideal venue to host a breakfast morning to showcase the strength of the partnership and launch the programme in a dynamic venue.
During the breakfast which took place on Thursday 29th August 2019, Ducati Glasgow’s Managing Director, Mike Robins welcomed the 85+ Lenovo staff, before giving an entertaining presentation detailing the link between Ducati, Lenovo and Moto GP before handing over to Spencer Cox, Lenovo, Director of Business Transformation, to introduce his colleagues to Lenovo’s advanced “People First” programme.
Lenovo’s “People First” Campaign aims to build upon team working, encourage entrepreneurism and ownership while focussing on recognising efforts by staff and rewarding them.
Staff were rewarded with prizes , champagne give-aways, Ducati gift sets to keep them engaged before a private tour of the Ducati Glasgow Dealership..
Robins commented, “Linking up with the Glasgow-based Lenovo team, has been a really positive experience. For us it’s inspiring to see such a sociable workforce enjoying working together, Lenovo will hopefully see great results from encouraging employees to help develop each other’s skills, and for all its staff it’s a fun morning spent in a really cool bike shop!”
Both Ducati Glasgow and Lenovo believe the partnership between themselves will continue to be a successful one, with thanks to the Moto GP collaboration.
